Purcari Negru de Purcari puts Moldova on the world wine map with this famous fine cuvée, which has been ordered by the royals of Europe for years. A complex wine, elegant and approachable, already ripe for immediate enjoyment while the rest of the wine box reaches its peak in the cellar. We assume a shelf life of up to 30 years.
Purcari Negru de Purcari, described by its producers as “the king of Purcari wines,” is the winery’s most prestigious expression. Its elegance is surpassed only by the Limited Edition variants, which are crafted from carefully selected barriques.
Produced from Cabernet Sauvignon, Saperavi and Rara Neagra grapes, this wine stands out through its distinctive, intense and complex bouquet, excellent balance, rich structure and noble palate - everything expected of a premium-quality red wine.
The wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barriques, where it fully develops its sophisticated character. To fully appreciate its aromas, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 18–20°C and decant it 30 minutes before serving.
Tasting notes
Dark purple-red with a violet hue and a black core. Aromatic nose with pronounced fruits, dark plums, black cherries, black currant jam, blackberries, sweet elderberries, fine roasted aroma, vanilla and mild spices. Well structured on the palate with good depth, ripe tannins, well balanced fruits and mild spices. A wine with very good length and depth.
Aroma: This blend develops a complex and intense bouquet with notes of sweet fruit, particularly plums and figs, complemented by delicate hints of cloves, liquorice and saffron.
Palate: Rich flavours of perfectly ripe fresh plums, figs and forest berries, wrapped in a refined blend of spices.
Colour: Brick red.
