Magura Zamfirei Muma Rye Pure Spirit, an authentic rye-based drink, reflects the essence of purity and our distilling tradition.
We carefully cultivate rye on our own fields in Teleorman, which we harvest and distil at our distillery.
We ensure the quality of the raw material from the very beginning, sowing and fertilising the land in a way that enhances the concentration of starch and flavour in the rye, essential for obtaining a superior product.
After harvesting, the rye is meticulously sorted and cleaned, then milled and mixed with water to convert the starches into sugars. The fermentation process is closely controlled, with constant monitoring of temperature and pH to ensure an impeccable result.
Distillation is carried out in three stages: the first extracts the alcohol and aromas, followed by filtration through activated charcoal and then two additional distillations to refine the liquid.
Our product was praised at the World Drinks Awards for its exceptional taste, described as “extremely clean, almost neutral, with delicate vegetal notes of green pepper, dill and cucumber, and a subtle hint of olive oil.” This description highlights the unique character of Muma Rye Pure Spirit, a premium drink that comes remarkably close to perfection.
The Muma Rye Pure Spirit label is also a benchmark. Its outstanding design impressed the judges at the World Drinks Awards, earning the World’s Best Label Design in the Grain Spirits category.
