Lacrima lui Ovidiu (Ovidiu's Tear) is the only fortified Romanian wine. Lacrima lui Ovidiu is aged for 5 years and is obtained from the Murfatlar vineyard through the vinification of the Pinot Noir, Feteasca Neagra, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties, blended in different proportions depending on the harvest years and aged in oak barrels.

It tastes of currants and blueberries, sweet and at the same time strong, retaining the body and tannin of the Cabernet Sauvignon and the suppleness of the Pinot Noir, woody and smoky with cocoa valences, a full-bodied wine with good integrated acidity, with a long aftertaste.

Best served with: sweet desserts, especially with vanilla custard pastries
