Lacrima lui Ovidiu (Ovidiu's Tear) is the only fortified Romanian wine. Lacrima lui Ovidiu is aged for 5 years and this fortified white wine is obtained from the Murfatlar vineyard through the vinification of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Muscat Ottonel varieties, blended in different proportions according to the harvest years, and aged in oak barrels. The taste is very pleasant, light, sweet, enriched with a whole spectrum of woody, caramelised, cedar and oak aromas, as well as a delicate taste of honey.
