Dugladze Magical Tbilisi Kakhuri is a rich, amber wine made using Georgia’s ancient qvevri winemaking method, where the wine ferments and ages in clay vessels buried underground. Produced from handpicked Rkatsiteli grapes in the Kakheti region, this bold wine reveals complex flavours of dried fruits, nuts and subtle spice, with a full-bodied texture and a long, earthy finish.
This not your usual orange, amber wine. This is how wine is traditionally made in Georgia. Kakhuri is produced using a UNESCO reaffirmed traditional method of winemaking called Qvevri. The wine undergoes fermentation with skin contact in the Qvevri for 6 months causing a dazzling amber colour as well as well-expressed tannins. What also makes this wine interesting is that you will find grape skins floating around in the bottle due to the above process.
Colour: Amber
Aroma and taste: Aromas of spices and tones of peach, honey and tobacco
Palate: Energetic, well-expressed tannins
