The nose opens with aromas of cherries and pomegranate, complemented by delicate spicy accents. The palate is harmonious, with rounded, perfectly integrated tannins that create a smooth and enjoyable drinking experience. This Romanian Pinot Noir showcases the terroir of Segarcea through aromatic clarity and a well-defined structure.
The mechanically harvested grapes were crushed and left to macerate and ferment in piston-operated fermentation tanks for ten days. The alternating downward movement of the pistons is a traditional winemaking technique that allows for greater extraction of colour and tannins. The wine was then aged for 6–8 months in new and second-use French oak barrels.
The aromatic profile is dominated by red fruit, particularly ripe cherries and pomegranate, layered with delicate hints of vanilla and liquorice derived from ageing in new and second-use French oak barrels. The texture is supple, with rounded, well-integrated tannins, while the balance between fruit and oak creates a clean finish.
