Every drop of Carpathian single malt starts its life as rainwater in the unexpected nature of the Carpathian mountains, home of the biggest wildlife in Europe.
Carpathian Single Malt is distilled, matured and bottled at the Alexandrion Saber 1789 Distillery, located near the Carpathian Mountains. It is made using 100% malted barley produced in Romania, with sub-Carpathian water, and it is bottled at 46% ABV. The whisky has been under the stewardship of master distiller Allan Anderson, who holds more than 30-years’ experience in Scotch whisky and Irish whiskey distillation.

Carpathian Bourbon Casks Peated Single Malt is Romania’s 1st peated single malt whisky has matured for four years in select bourbon casks. Lightly peated it will appeal to those entering peated whisky but will also appeal to the lovers of peated whisky. The malted barley is sourced from partners in Belgium, smoked with the best Scottish peat imparting a phenol content of 35ppm which leaves a nice smoky flavour whilst retaining the sweetness that a good whisky deserves.
Appearance: Pale straw colour, clear, medium viscosity on the legs.
Nose: Delicate and lightly peated with notes of vanilla, caramel, butterscotch and candies.
Taste: Slightly medicinal but sweet with hints of peat & hot chillies.
Finish: Long, intense, and hot with a peaty lingering finish.
