“Elegant, fruity, complex with a fantastic finish” — this is how the jury of the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships described this rosé, a precursor to the promising 2018 production, an exceptional vintage year.

Its bright salmon-pink colour and intense fruitiness are the defining characteristics of this rosé sparkling wine. The enhanced complexity and pronounced fruit expression of the current edition are achieved through the addition of still red wine to the blend of base wines prior to bottling for the second fermentation. Harvested in August 2018.

Winemaking method: bottle-aged, traditional method

Ageing: 36 months

Carastelec Carassia Rose Brut won the Chairman’s Trophy and was awarded the National Champion title (Best Romanian Rosé Sparkling Wine), as well as a Best in Class Special Award and a Gold Medal at The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships 2021. The first edition of Carassia Rose was awarded a Silver Medal at the 2017 World Championships, the year Carassia sparkling wines were launched.

Our sparkling wines are produced exclusively using the traditional Champenoise method, meaning bottle fermentation and ageing. In the case of CARASSIA sparkling wines, this involves extended bottle ageing of a minimum of twenty months, using traditional grape varieties. The entire winemaking process, from the first and second fermentations, through disgorgement, to bottling and labelling, is carried out in our own winery using state-of-the-art equipment.
